Irina Bender paints impressionistic landscapes and still life in oil. She finds her inspiration in the Southern California landscape and in the beauty of common objects. For Irina painting is a process of self discovery. Her focus is on painting on location (en plein air). She seeks to capture the emotion of a particular moment and place. Through the visual language of brushstrokes, true to life color relationships and interesting shapes she reveals beautiful light, shadow and the abstract patterns of nature.
Irina currently lives and works in San Diego, California. She has always an interest in art. Born was in Frunze, Kyrgyzstan she moved to the United States in 2000, where she began her studies in oil painting. Her teacher and mentor is Ebrahim Amin. She has also studied at La Jolla Athenaeum with Pat Kelly and at the Art Academy with Igor Koutsenko.
